Part-Time Medical Technician/Assistant

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to fill part-time medical technician/assistant positions in an efficient private practice. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working in a busy medical office, especially those who desire direct patient care interaction, before continuing a career in healthcare. Previous technicians have gone on to MD/DO, PA, and nursing school. We are a small, close-knit practice and you would be mentored by two amazing doctors. There are also opportunities to shadow them during clinic and in surgery.
 

About Us: A private ophthalmology practice in Walnut Creek, CA consisting of one pediatric ophthalmologist/strabismus specialist, Dr. Tina Chou and two retina specialists, Dr. Steven Harrison and Dr. Jennifer Tingley to treat a variety of eye conditions for a diverse patient population.
 

Duties Include:
Back office: Assisting physicians with diagnostic testing (vision exam, eye pressure, dilating eyes, refraction, retinal scans), obtaining accurate medical history/patient information, preparing treatments such as injections, lasers, and ultrasounds.
Front office: Scheduling patient appointments, maintaining physician and office schedules, processing insurances, answering multi-line phone calls, conducting patient reminder calls, preparing patient charts, filing, greeting patients, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
● No prior experience is required, full training is provided. Ability to speak Spanish or other language is a plus. Candidates must have a flexible schedule as we do need more technicians for certain clinics and days of the week.
● Candidates must be able to commit for one year; however preference will be
given to those who can commit at least 2 years. Morning and afternoon shifts
are available during the weekdays, and a minimum of 16 hours/week is required.
● Candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask. This position involves plenty of hands-on patient care, and ideal
candidates will be reliable, responsible, detail-oriented, friendly, and caring.
● Must have their own transportation!
● Starting wage is $18/hr
