Customer Service Internship

Position: Retail Store – Customer Service Internship
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports To: Retail Manager
Location: Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory                                                    Pay: $15.00
              

Position Summary: 

Celebrate and communicate the extraordinary role of Louisville Slugger in Baseball's past, present and future. The Customer Service Internship provides world-class service for all customers requesting assistance relating to orders processed over phone, mail, email, or walk-ins. This is done through warmly greeting all guests, providing expedient service, & promptly answering any questions about the Louisville Slugger brand and/or the city of Louisville. In addition, this role is accountable for proper cash handling, exhibiting a professional attitude while over the phone or email, maintaining a clean and inviting store as well as stocking the store as needed.    

This is a paid position that is scheduled to work 40 hours/week.  Weekend and evening availability is required.


Essential Functions:

  1. Provide exceptional customer service for all inquiries in regard to email, phone, and/or walk-in.
  2. Provide expedient service and move queued lines quickly but always with courteous and warm greetings.
  3. Assist customers with selecting personalized bats, process orders, and operate the laser engraver as assigned or as needed.
  4. Handle phone and email inquiries from customers.
  5. Complete tasks as required by the Retail Manager or Supervisors.
  6. Must have flexible work hours, nights, weekdays, weekends, and Holidays as needed. May be asked to work night events at the Museum.
  7. Advises customers by providing information on products.
  8. Assist to Resolve customer complaints/issues in a timely manner that achieve satisfaction from the customer yet continue to adhere to company guidelines.
  9. Plans and completes an internship customer service survey project with Retail Manager’s approval.
  10. Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
  11. Team player within the retail department and companywide.

 

Other Duties:

Requirements:

  1. College Student
  2. Enjoy interacting with the public and company employees.
  3. Strong customer care skills
  4. Practicable application and daily use of Retail POS system and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Access).
  5. Merchandising and visual presentation skills
