Internship Overview

The Associate Financial Planner Internship is a paid, 10-week summer program designed to provide hands-on exposure to real-world financial planning. Interns will work closely with out lead advisor during one of the firm’s busiest and most educational times of the year: annual client reviews.

This role is ideal for students considering a career in financial planning who want meaningful experience, client interaction, and practical skill development.

What You’ll Learn & Do

  • Apply core financial planning concepts in real client situations
  • Participate in client meetings, preparation, and follow-ups
  • Learn and use professional financial planning software
  • Build professional confidence through networking and mentorship
  • Complete a final project that integrates planning concepts and practical experience

What You Will Not Be Asked to Do

  • No sales responsibilities
  • No cold calling
  • No requirement to bring your own contacts or prospects

Program Structure

  • Hybrid: Work remotely on Mondays and Fridays
  • Week 1: Orientation and onboarding
  • Weeks 2–3: Training and education
  • Weeks 4–9: Client-facing work as annual reviews begin
  • Week 10: Final project and presentation

Who Should Apply

  • Students pursuing their CFP® certification or considering a career in financial planning, finance, or a related field
  • Individuals who value relationship-based work and thoughtful problem-solving
  • Strong communicators who are curious, dependable, and eager to learn
  • Prior experience is helpful but not required

Compensation
