Financial Operations Intern

AXL MXMS is a multi-family office and business management firm serving elite athletes, founders, and growth-stage companies. We operate as a strategic command center — designing financial infrastructure, operational systems, and wealth strategies that convert high-performance talent into long-term enterprise value and generational legacy.

This internship is not observational. It is an embedded, real-world role inside our Financial Operations & Business Management pillar.

Position Overview

We are seeking a high-caliber Financial Operations Intern to work directly alongside our Chief of Staff / Head of Financial Operations.

This role is designed for someone who wants to learn how real financial systems are built, not just reviewed. You will be involved in constructing financial models, building reporting systems, cleaning and structuring bookkeeping data, and executing client-facing deliverables across multiple companies and athlete brands.

You will receive direct mentorship, exposure to real client strategy, and hands-on ownership of meaningful work — not busywork.

What You Will Do

You will serve as the execution and build arm behind strategy — turning vision into structure.

Financial Systems & Reporting

• Build and maintain financial models in Excel / Google Sheets
• Create client dashboards, trackers, cash flow tools, and management reports
• Assist in designing scalable reporting and documentation systems
• Support forecasting, projections, and multi-entity financial structures

Financial Quality Control & Reporting Support

• Perform quality-control checks on financial data prior to client delivery
• Prepare clean, client-ready financial reports, summaries, and dashboards
• Assist in organizing multi-entity financial data into clear management views
• Communicate with clients to obtain clarification on transactions, classifications, and documentation

Client & Operations Support

• Prepare client-facing reports, summaries, and documentation
• Assist with emails, deliverable packaging, and internal workflows
• Support operational execution across athlete brands, LLCs, and investment entities

Learning & Development

• Gain exposure to business management, athlete finance, and multi-entity operations
• Learn real-world accounting, cash flow management, and financial strategy
• Build professional confidence in financial communication and client interaction

Who We’re Looking For

This is a high-growth seat — we’re looking for someone who is:

• Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in:
  • Accounting, Finance, Business, Sports Management, or similar
• Strong in Excel and/or Google Sheets
• Has a foundational understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow structured systems
• Fast-learning, adaptable, and able to think on their feet
• Comfortable interacting with clients, teammates, and leadership
• Genuinely interested in business operations, finance, and athlete / entrepreneurial ecosystems
