We are seeking a dedicated, passionate, and experienced Lead Teacher to join our team. The Lead Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, leading instruction, modeling best practices, and ensuring student safety, growth, and well-being. The ideal candidate is warm, highly skilled in early childhood education, collaborative, and aligned with our philosophy of celebrating effort, curiosity, and the power of “yet.”

Key Responsibilities

Lead classroom instruction and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences

Develop lesson plans aligned with program goals, early childhood standards, and growth mindset principles

Foster a safe, inclusive, joyful, and supportive classroom environment

Support children’s social-emotional development through positive guidance and relationship building

Observe, assess, and document student progress; communicate observations to families and leadership

Ensure adherence to NYC DOH Article 47 and licensing requirements

Collaborate with teaching team members, administrators, and support staff

Maintain clear communication with families, fostering strong school–family partnerships

Uphold program values, professionalism, and high standards of care and education

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred, or currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program or closely related major

NYS Teacher Certification in Early Childhood or eligibility preferred (or willingness to pursue certification pathways)

Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience working in early childhood education required

Strong classroom management, instructional planning, and child development knowledge

Ability to create a positive, culturally responsive, and inclusive learning environment

Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills

Passion for working with children and commitment to growth mindset philosophy
