Position: Virtual Math Tutor

Job Type: Part-time, Remote (6-month minimum commitment required)

Schedule: Weekdays 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Central Time (flexible hours weekend)

About the Role: We are seeking an exceptional virtual math tutor to work with middle school and high school students in both 1:1 and small group settings. The ideal candidate will create an engaging learning environment while helping students build confidence and achieve measurable academic improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to commit to a minimum 6-month engagement
  • Punctual and reliable with consistent availability during scheduled hours
  • Strong proficiency in Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, College Algebra, Calculus, and AP-level mathematics
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience with demonstrated success in improving student outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complicated math concepts using clear, intelligible examples
  • Comfortable using technology for virtual instruction (Zoom, iPad, digital whiteboard, or similar visualization tools) with reliable high-speed internet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explain complex mathematical concepts through clear examples and excellent communication
  • Assess students' difficulties and tailor teaching materials to meet individual learning needs
  • Share effective study techniques and help students establish consistent study habits
  • Cultivate a fun and interesting learning environment that encourages questions and discussions
  • Create and administer regular quizzes and tests to track student progress
  • Conduct test review sessions focused on improving comprehension and grades
  • Prepare students for standardized tests (SAT, ACT) with proven strategies
  • Work with students individually or in small groups during evening hours
