Editorial & Copywriting Intern

Position Summary
The Editorial & Copywriting Intern at the Design Studies Institute will play a vital role in shaping the Institute’s identity, through both online and offline content. You will be responsible for revising, developing, and managing  content by working both independently and collaboratively with our operations team to share our story, highlight our programs, and engage our diverse academic community. This position has a flexible remote schedule with one weekly 30-minute check-in meeting that takes place on Google Meets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute original content in a variety of formats (web pages, landing pages, press relates, podcasts).
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team and other staff members to coordinate messaging and ensure content accuracy.
  • Monitor analytics and community engagement metrics; adapt strategies to boost reach and effectiveness.
  • Regularly research trends, peer institutions, and best practices in academic and creative content production.
  • Represent the Institute’s brand voice consistently across all  communications.
  • Other duties as assigned based on Institute priorities and your own creative initiative.

Qualifications

  • You are currently enrolled as a student or are a recent graduate (<6 month) (any discipline; preference for communications, marketing, design, or related fields).
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in writing, communication, or content creation. 
  • Skilled in written storytelling.
  • Self-motivated and able to initiate and execute projects with minimal oversight.
  • Able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Passion for creativity, innovation, and academic or educational environments.
