Social Media Specialist

Social Media Specialist - PROJXON

About the Role: Unpaid, 20 hrs/week, 6-month program.

Responsibilities

Develop, plan, and execute social media strategies across platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook

Create, schedule, and publish engaging content, including graphics, videos, and written posts, aligned with brand voice and goals.

Monitor social media performance using analytics tools, tracking engagement, reach, and growth to inform content optimization.

Engage with followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.

Collaborate with marketing, content, and design teams to support campaigns, product launches, and brand initiatives.

Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to continuously improve performance.

Maintain a content calendar and ensure consistent posting schedules across platforms.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

1–3 years of experience managing social media accounts for a brand, organization, or agency.

Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and voice for different platforms and audiences.

Experience using social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout, Buffer, native platform insights).

Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Skills

Experience creating short-form video content for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram Reels.

Basic graphic design or video editing skills using tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or CapCut.

Familiarity with paid social media advertising and audience targeting strategies.

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable content improvements.

Knowledge of SEO, content marketing, or influencer partnerships.

Creative, proactive, and highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
