Stuller’s Product Design and Development (PD&D) team leverages decades of expertise in CAD and 3D rendering, metal mold engineering, master models, and rubber molds to create the high-quality products our customers expect and trust. Stuller’s Creative Design team is responsible for transforming concepts into reality by overseeing fabrication testing, refining designs, and ensuring seamless coordination between design and manufacturing. The team creates detailed 2D concept sketches and technical drawings, staying ahead of jewelry trends through close partnership with merchandising.
The Jewelry Design Intern will be a student-level, or recent graduate jewelry designer/ jeweler who has an interest in learning more about the Jewelry making process. They will be expected to contribute with varied tasks throughout their internship cross departmentally and will gain a wide range of exposure and skills to help them grow their career in Jewelry. The internship will allow the student the opportunity to design and manufacture a piece while at Stuller, to add to their portfolio.
The PD&D Intern will have a rotating daily schedule to assist across the division, working in focused areas such as Model making, Conceptual design, CAD design and Workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shadow various positions within PD&D to learn Stuller’s processes and procedures in jewelry manufacturing.
- Contribute to the department by fulfilling various tasks as requested, which may include sketching, CAD work, light bench work, resin prepping, sample running, board creation, and light organizational work.
- Tasks will be assigned based on the individual skill set and interests of the intern, as well as departmental needs.
- Create a portfolio piece following a similar design process to how a concept is developed into a saleable item at Stuller, mimicking the company’s real design workflow.
Basic Qualifications:
- Current university student studying jewelry design, metalsmithing, or industrial design.
- One letter of recommendation required.
- Detail-oriented with creative thinking skills.
- Hand drawing ability and basic bench skills.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills and general email etiquette.
- Ability to problem solve, follow directions, and work well within a team.
- Possess strong organizational habits and a willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Adobe software.
- Knowledge of 3D modeling software.
