Position Overview:
The Civil Engineer Intern/Co-op will be working with our experienced team members, gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of the site development process of civil engineering. This experience includes site design, grading, stormwater and utility design and more. Beyond the design component of the job, you will also gain experience in communication with the clients, permitting, following standards, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual looking to kick-start their career in civil engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and planning of civil engineering projects, including drafting, calculations, and research.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather data, analyze findings, and provide recommendations.
- Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar platforms for design tasks.
- Conduct field visits and meetings when necessary, ensuring projects are progressing as per specifications.
- Assist in preparing reports, permits, and other documentation related to projects.
- Engage in continuous learning opportunities.
- Participate in team meetings, providing valuable input and feedback on project developments.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with CAD software, preferably AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license (if required for site visits).
