MagicMode Operations Technician

 A perfect mix of building hardware, precision driving, and data work: 

  • Expertly drive modified wheelchairs with PS5 controllers, steering wheels, or joysticks to collect ultra-high-quality training data. DAgger-style interventions when the AI drifts. Attention to detail and precision is paramount. 
  • Assemble, wire, solder, and test MagicMode kits on real wheelchairs. 
  • Maintain inventory, keep our fleet in working order, tuning drive feel, troubleshooting. 
  • Use our in-house tools to clean, augment, and label driving data; give direct feedback to improve the tools. 

 You’re Probably Our Person If 

  • You’re really good at video games or sim racing (smooth, and precise driving adhering to our driving “policy” we are teaching our AI model.) 
  • You love soldering, wiring, and building things that work. 
  • You’re detail-oriented, reliable, and enjoy creative problem-solving and making repetitive tasks and processes better and easier each time. 
  • Self-taught makers, hackerspace regulars, and junior technicians are strongly encouraged to apply.

Requirements 

  • Fully on-site in downtown Indianapolis. 
  • Comfortable lifting/moving wheelchairs (~100 lbs with help.)
