Biology Tutor

As a Biology Tutor, you will guide students who voluntarily choose this program because of their genuine interest in biology and scientific inquiry. Through individualized instruction, you will help them master complex concepts, think like scientists, and build strong foundations for future academic and research pursuits.

Responsibilities
Conduct one-on-one virtual tutoring sessions via Zoom (typically 1 hour per week per student).
Teach and reinforce core biology concepts using the Blackwell curriculum and your academic expertise.
Support students with homework, exam preparation, laboratory-style assignments, and foundational research techniques.
Provide personalized mentorship aligned with each student’s interests—ranging from molecular genetics to organismal biology to environmental science.
Maintain clear communication and flexible scheduling to meet students’ needs.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate (PhD or MD/DO) in Biology or a closely related field (e.g., Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Ecology, Biomedical Science).
At least one year of teaching, tutoring, or mentorship experience (TA, tutor, research mentor, lab instructor, etc.).
Strong understanding of at least one subfield of biology (e.g., genetics, microbiology, physiology, ecology, evolutionary biology, cell/molecular biology).
Ability to commit at least two hours per week (no fixed minimum or maximum number of students).
