Social Media & Medical Communications Intern
Food for Health® is seeking a dynamic, curious, and highly articulate intern to join our communications team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about health innovation, storytelling, and social media strategy. You’ll help make complex scientific and medical topics accessible to the public, amplify our message across major social platforms, and source or create engaging content. that drive awareness, engagement, and impact.
What You’ll Do:
- Translate scientific, medical, and health-related articles into clear, engaging social media posts and summaries—without losing accuracy.
- Curate and source credible articles and studies for republishing or inspiration.
- Manage and grow our presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter/X, and more.
- Draft posts, infographics, and short-form videos using Canva and other tools.
- Schedule and monitor content performance using Hootsuite or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with our team to develop editorial calendars and media strategies.
- Attend select C-suite meetings and national events (optional, expenses paid).
- Learn and use tools like FasterHQ, Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, LinkedIn, Pitchbook, Byte51, Crunchbase, CoPilot AI, , and more.

- Exceptional at simplifying complex information for broad audiences.
- Skilled in writing, editing, research, and fact verification
- Proactive, organized, and eager to learn.
- Interested in health, wellness, fitness, humanity, and making a positive impact.
Requirements:
- Experience with major social platforms and scheduling tools.
- Ability to find and vet credible sources for health/science content.
- Familiarity with Canva, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and media databases a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and strong communication skills.

Compensation
- Equity or cash bonus based upon performance & deliverables
- Otherwise this is an UNPAID Internship
Work Schedule:
- Flexible 15 – 25 hrs/wk depending upon your learning goals
- Estimated Start Date – January 2026
- Estimated End Date – May 30, 2026
Location:
- Virtual/Remote outside of Minneapolis
- Optional office hours @ Lifetime Fitness or The Minneapolis Club
- Optional national C-suite meetings, conferences, and events. All expenses paid
