Intern
Internship Overview
This paid internship offers hands-on experience across all areas of an event production company. Interns will rotate through administrative operations, software systems, marketing initiatives, and on-site event coordination, gaining a holistic understanding of the events and entertainment industry. This role is designed to complement the student’s academic major while providing professional mentorship and real-world application of classroom learning.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the internship, the student will be able to:
- Increase knowledge of the events and entertainment profession, with emphasis on their academic specialization (Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, Event Management, Business, or related fields)
- Apply academic theories, tools, and skills in real-world professional settings
- Conduct a self-evaluation of strengths, weaknesses, and personal/professional standards
- Demonstrate professional ethics, accountability, and workplace communication skills
- Develop new competencies in leadership, supervision, and administrative functions
- Understand fiscal responsibility related to event invoices
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities are designed to be educational, skill-building, and major-relevant, and may include:
Administrative & Operations
- Assist with event timelines, proposals, contracts, and internal documentation
- Support scheduling, staffing coordination, and vendor communication
- Learn industry-standard workflows and operational best practices
Software Systems & Business Tools
- Gain hands-on experience with CRM systems, project management tools, and internal databases
- Assist with organizing client data and maintaining operational systems
Marketing & Communications
- Support social media content planning, posting, and performance tracking
- Assist with marketing strategy, brand messaging, and content creation
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis within the events industry
On-Site Event Coordination
- Assist with event load-in, setup, and breakdown
- Learn on-site problem-solving and professional event etiquette
Supervision & Mentorship
- Interns are supervised directly by Alex Meyers, CEO
- Regular check-ins and mentorship sessions will focus on goal-setting, feedback, and long-term professional development.
- The intern will receive guidance, evaluations, and documentation required for academic credit
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student seeking academic credit
- Major in Marketing, Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in events, entertainment, marketing, or production environments
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work collaboratively
- Basic familiarity with social media, email, and video communications, or similar tools preferred (training provided)
Internship Details
- Compensation: Paid internship
- Weekly Hours: 15–25 hours per week (aligned with academic credit requirements)
- Duration: 12–15 weeks (semester-based; flexible to meet university guidelines)
- Location: Combination of remote work and on-site event support (as applicable)
