Assistant Store Manager (Part-Time)

MR. FRIENDLY is seeking a hands-on leader to support daily retail operations and help guide our in-store team. This role is ideal for someone with prior retail or hospitality experience who enjoys working directly with customers, coaching others, and maintaining strong visual and operational standards.

This position begins with 14 cumulative days of hands-on training with the owners; scheduling and hourly wage are commensurate with what is exhibited during that period.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership (40%)
Support, coach, and motivate a team of 4–5 associates. Delegate tasks effectively and reinforce a collaborative, accountable team culture.

Customer Care (30%)
Provide thoughtful, solution-oriented support to pet owners through in-person and remote consultations. Build client relationships, drive engagement, and convert interactions into long-term loyalty.

Daily Operations (30%)
Oversee day-to-day store operations, including inventory management from receiving through replenishment, while maintaining visual standards and efficient time management.

Requirements

Ability to lift 35+ lbs.

Prior experience in retail and/or hospitality required

Proven leadership or management experience

Two (2) professional references

Strong organizational and communication skills

Employment Details

Position: Part-time

Pay: $21–$30 per hour (based on experience)
