Overview:
We are seeking a Family Therapist to Join Our Team at our specialized foster care program, SafeGuards Foster Care. SafeGuards Foster Care is a local agency that provides help to many children in Eastern Pennsylvania with office locations in Reading and Bethlehem. As a therapist, you will provide weekly individual therapy to enrolled youth and bi-weekly family therapy sessions, attend weekly clinical meetings, and complete family assessments and involvement plans for clients. Therapists also facilitate two group therapy sessions per week. The Therapist will maintain documentation on each client's electronic health record.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients and their families on a regular bi-weekly basis
- Runs/co-facilitates therapeutic groups
- Complies with both internal and external requirements for documentation and associated timelines.
- Participate in weekly meeting with clinical team for case conceptualization
- Assists in preparation of treatment plans, court reports, and other clinical documentation.
- Completes quarterly family assessments.
- Assists with victim/sibling's reunification, when warranted
- Assess the status of family involvement and discuss strategies for improvement/relevant attendance with supervisors
- Aids in the assessment of suitability of family members for discharge consideration
- Maintains regular contact with juvenile probation officers and/or caseworkers for case coordination.
- Clinically supervises residents while following program policies and assuring compliance with BARJ principles and best practices within the field.
- Remains on call after hours for a week at a time, several times a year.
Education/Experience:
- Therapeutic training: Master's Degree required.
- A License for LPC, LCSW, MFT or supervision toward this end is preferred.
- Specific training and/or experience with sexual offending population and/or adolescents is preferred.
- Certificates and Licenses
- Valid driver's license required
- One of several clinical licenses preferred
