Amani Christian Community Development VISTA

Amani Christian Community Development Corporation (CDC) focuses on fostering healthy and safe communities in Pittsburgh's Hill District. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Greater Hill District neighborhoods by restoring community assets, creating new developments, and offering homeownership opportunities. As a member of the Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group, Amani collaborates with community-based non-profits to achieve economic justice and racial equity through revitalization efforts. 

PCRG empowers community development organizations in the region, providing resources like the VISTA program, which enhances organizational capacity while cultivating leadership. The program has been successful in advancing the careers of VISTA members, who are given opportunities for professional development through classes, conferences, etc. About 70% of VISTAs have gone on to positions at community non-profits, while the other 30% have pursued higher education, often supported by the end-of-service education award.

As our VISTA, you will work with the real estate manager. The VISTAs primary focus will be establishing and strengthening partnerships for each program and conducting community needs assessments. During their year of service, the VISTA will gain an understanding of CDC operations, develop networking and communication skills, and engage in outreach to assess community needs. This is an opportunity to be immersed in the vibrant Hill District community while making a tangible impact. We seek passionate, outgoing, and organized individuals dedicated to driving change in underserved communities.
