About the Role

Are you passionate about innovation, building your leadership skills, and making a meaningful impact on your campus? Join the National Innovation Ambassador Program at the National Innovation Council (NIC), a network dedicated to developing the next generation of innovative leaders.

This is a part-time leadership internship where you help introduce NIC to your campus and support early chapter development.

As a National Innovation Ambassador, you will help introduce NIC to your campus by leading outreach, sharing NIC opportunities with interested students, and supporting early community-building. You will gain practical leadership experience, build meaningful connections, and contribute to real work in innovation, leadership, and emerging technologies.

Our flagship Fellowship helps students stand out through hands-on experience, expert networking, and credentials that open doors for jobs and graduate school. NIC equips students with practical leadership opportunities and interdisciplinary learning to create lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

 

Key Responsibilities

Help Introduce NIC on Your Campus

  • Lead outreach using NIC’s provided materials
  • Share program updates and opportunities with interested students
  • Support early chapter activities as they begin to take shape
  • Publish content weekly and share updates through the NIC campus social account you create and manage.
     

Support Early Chapter Development

  • Work with NIC staff to understand program goals and represent NIC accurately
  • Help identify a potential Faculty Advisor
  • Participate in early planning for on-campus or virtual interest sessions and introductory events
  • Strengthen awareness through campus partnerships and student organizations
     

Drive Student Engagement

  • Inspire peers to explore NIC’s Fellowship and learning community
  • Promote NIC opportunities through social media, word-of-mouth, and student organizations
  • Answer basic questions about NIC and help connect students to the right resources
     

Build Leadership and Management Skills

  • Learn to coordinate small teams and delegate tasks
  • Refine communication, planning, and decision-making
  • Work with NIC mentors and staff for guidance, support, and next steps
     

Champion Innovation and Emerging Technologies

  • Encourage students to explore creative problem-solving and interdisciplinary thinking
  • Facilitate simple discussions or activities that help students learn about innovation, leadership, and emerging technologies
  • Contribute ideas on how NIC can best show up on your campus
