Technical Writing Intern
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Technical Writing Intern to join our team. This role focuses on organizing, standardizing, and enhancing our project proposal content library. The intern will play a key role in creating a more efficient proposal development process by cataloging existing materials and assisting with compliant proposal writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and categorize previous project proposals into common thematic buckets
- Identify recurring sections across proposals and develop standardized content templates
- Organize prior work, project documentation, and proposal content into a logical folder structure
- Create and maintain a content library for quick reference during future proposal development
- Tag and index content for easy searchability and retrieval
- Assist in drafting project proposals that meet specific opportunity requirements
- Ensure all proposals comply with formatting guidelines and submission specifications
- Proofread and edit proposal content for clarity, consistency, and professionalism
- Collaborate with team members to gather technical information and project details
- Track proposal deadlines and assist in managing the submission process
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Business, or a related field
- Strong written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with document management systems or content organization is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with proposal writing or grant applications
- Experience with file organization and taxonomy development
- Knowledge of compliance requirements for government or corporate proposals
