We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) Intern to join our growing sales team. This role is ideal for a student pursuing a Business or Marketing major with a minor in Information Technology (IT), offering hands-on experience in the exciting field of healthcare workflow technology. The BDR Intern will be crucial in generating Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) for our innovative platform, which helps streamline operations for healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities

The BDR Intern will focus on the initial stages of the sales process, primarily through outbound prospecting:

  • Target Account Research: Research and identify key healthcare organizations (hospitals, clinics, physician groups) and decision-makers (e.g., IT Directors, Operations Managers, Clinical Leaders) who could benefit from our workflow platform.
  • Outbound Prospecting: Execute targeted outreach campaigns using email, LinkedIn, and cold calls to initiate conversations and generate interest.
  • Lead Qualification: Conduct initial discovery calls to understand the prospect's current healthcare workflow challenges, technical environment, and potential fit for our solution.
  • SQL Generation: Successfully set appointments and demonstrations for Account Executives, ensuring all necessary qualification criteria are met to convert the lead into a Sales Qualified Lead (SQL).
  • CRM Management: Accurately track all prospecting activities and update lead status within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Market Feedback: Collaborate with the Marketing and Product teams to provide feedback on industry trends and the effectiveness of messaging.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Technical Acumen: Completion of an IT minor or demonstrated coursework/understanding in areas such as basic system architecture, data management, or digital processes is highly desirable.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, especially for engaging in professional outreach (cold calls and personalized emails).
  • Motivation: Self-starter with a strong work ethic, a competitive spirit, and a desire to learn complex B2B sales cycles.
  • Interest in Healthcare: A genuine interest in the healthcare industry and how technology can improve clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Tools: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and prospecting tools (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator) is a plus.
