Availability:                       Starting date to be determined by RCCS and successful candidate.

Rate:                     Pay Range 15 on RCCS Pay Range Assignment - $30.80- $51.42, dependent on experience.

Essential Functions:

The Agency Attorney will represent the Agency in Court in all matters regarding abuse, neglect and dependency cases and related matters.  The Agency Attorney will be responsible for management of their individual caseload to maintain compliance with court orders, scheduling orders, trial and discovery preparation, witness and client testimony preparation, and other tasks associated with each case in order to provide quality and timely presentation of agency court cases.  The Agency attorney will provide advice, consultation and legal research as necessary and be prepared to represent the interests of the Agency in filing objections to court decisions and the filing of appeals to the court of appeals if necessary. 

Educational and Licensure Requirements

 High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience and demonstrated knowledge/skills; 

 Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services Related Field (Social Work Preferred);

 Master’s Degree in Human Services Related Field;

 Valid License:  State of Ohio Social Worker (LSW)  State of Ohio Independent Social Worker (LISW)  State of Ohio Independent Social Worker Supervisors (LISW-S)  Other: 

 Other: Juris Doctorate from accredited law school; License to practice in the State of Ohio and provide a Certificate of Good Standing 

Preferred: 

 Master’s Degree in Social Work

 Valid License:  State of Ohio Social Worker (LSW), or;   State of Ohio Independent Social Worker (LISW), or;  State of Ohio Independent Social Worker Supervisors (LISW-S)  Other: 

 Other: Previous experience as an attorney in Child/Juvenile related cases; Prior courtroom/trial experience 

Work Hours:    Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

  • Holidays, weekends, and on call as needed
  • This position may be required to work beyond standard Agency office hours as necessary to 

meet the needs of Agency clients and to complete assigned duties.
