AAPC Foundation Summer Internship at Cerillion N4 Partners

AAPC Foundation Summer Internship at Cerillion N4 Partners

The AAPC Foundation Summer Internship Program offers students a full-time, paid, nine-week applied learning experience with a designated AAPC member firm. Interns gain practical skills, professional networks, and insight into how campaigns, data, and technology shape civic engagement—preparing them to become the next generation of leaders in the field.

Cerillion N4 Partners (CN4) is a full-service political consulting and communications firm dedicated to helping progressive candidates, causes, and organizations win. CN4 works across a wide range of issue areas—including education, public safety, housing, climate, and voting rights—and specializes in message development, digital strategy, direct mail, research, and creative content. Clients include first-time candidates, seasoned elected officials, labor unions, advocacy organizations, and statewide coalitions.

This internship is designed to give students direct exposure to political consulting, campaign strategy, and day-to-day client support at a national firm. Interns are fully integrated into the CN4 team and work closely with associates, vice presidents, and partners to help keep projects on track across multiple clients and initiatives. Students will gain practical experience in political research, digital communications, and project management, as well as opportunities to develop technical skills such as working with voter databases (e.g., NGP VAN) and improving design and formatting for political communications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support CN4’s internal and external communications, including helping build and maintain the firm’s social media presence
  • Assist with drafting content and ensuring consistency across platforms
  • Contribute to research projects, including compiling background information on upcoming races, issue areas, and political landscapes that inform strategic planning, including longer-term national and presidential cycles
  • Support project management efforts by tracking tasks, deadlines, and follow-ups for internal teams and client work
  • Participate in weekly meetings, organize next steps, and coordinate with team members to ensure deliverables stay on schedule

This position is ideal for candidates who are:

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong in written and verbal communication, with the ability to interface professionally with team members and clients
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and familiar with Google Workspace tools including Docs, Sheets, and Drive
  • Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in how strategy, messaging, and operations come together to help candidates win
  • Interested in developing technical skills; prior experience with political software such as NGP VAN is not required but is a plus
  • Interested in politics, campaigns, or public affairs, with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced consulting environment
