AAPC Foundation Summer Internship at Rittenhouse Political Partners

The AAPC Foundation Summer Internship Program offers students a full-time, paid, nine-week applied learning experience with a designated AAPC member firm. Interns gain practical skills, professional networks, and insight into how campaigns, data, and technology shape civic engagement—preparing them to become the next generation of leaders in the field.

Rittenhouse Political Partners helps clients build authentic relationships with broad networks to support their campaigns and missions. Recognized as the premier Democratic fundraising firm in Pennsylvania, Rittenhouse Political Partners works with candidates, incumbent elected officials, political action committees, and organizations at both the local and national levels. Services include fundraising consulting and training, campaign finance compliance training, campaign operations management, event planning, development research and planning, board development, and campaign finance reporting.

Rittenhouse is committed to training the next generation of political fundraisers. Interns work directly with the team to learn proven systems for building smart, strategic, scalable, and successful fundraising programs—helping clients develop authentic, trusted relationships with their supporters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct donor prospecting research and participate in staff client call time
  • Assist with planning, executing, and staffing fundraising events of varying sizes
  • Learn campaign finance compliance processes, including logging expenses and disbursements
  • Learn how campaign finance reports are compiled, reviewed for accuracy, and completed

This position is ideal for candidates who are:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Docs
  • Comfortable communicating by phone, email, and in person
  • Interested in political science or civics, with a strong interest in campaign politics (prior campaign work or volunteer experience is a plus)
  • Familiar with or interested in learning CRM software, basic graphic design tools (such as Canva), and basic accounting principles (helpful but not required)
