Brand Management Intern

Hokkaido Brewing (Japanese Craft Beer 日本のクラフトビール) – Internship Opportunity

Hokkaido Brewing USA is a Japanese craft beer marketing firm spearheaded by Rutgers alumnus (MBA/JD) Andrew Wu, Esq. Brand Management Internship

Location: Hybrid, would require to be in-office at least 50%, and in field marketing for events

Compensation: Stipend-based, paid part-time probation period for three months: 2,000 per/semester (In person events would be paid extra $23 per/hr.)

Duration: Three months 20-25 hours a week with flexible scheduling to accommodate classes; after successful completion of the three months internship and evaluation, this would lead to a full-time position and salary is competitive (TBD). 

Responsibilities:

• Manage and grow Hokkaido Brewing’s social media accounts across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and others
• Create short videos, photos, and simple graphics to keep all channels active and engaging
• Write captions, schedule posts, and contribute to shaping the overall voice and visual identity of the brand
• Assist in the creation of graphic design and digital marketing materials for campaigns, events, and promotions
• Support monthly content planning and the execution of marketing strategies in collaboration with the brand manager
• Track social media performance and provide insights to improve engagement, reach, and brand visibility
• Conduct market research on competitor content, beverage industry trends, and Japanese cultural elements relevant to branding
• Analyze social media and digital data to provide recommendations for optimizing company digital assets
• Contribute to brand storytelling and content creation that highlights Japanese culture and the Hokkaido Beer brand
• Assist with website updates to maintain consistency across all digital platforms
• Promote tastings, festivals, and community events through digital channels
• Attend select events to capture photos, videos, and other media content for marketing purposes
• Bring forward new ideas, proactively identify opportunities, and support the development of processes as the brand grows

Qualifications

• University student (both undergraduate or graduate)or recent graduate majoring in Business, Communication, Graphic Design, Marketing, or Public Relations

• Interest in full time position in marketing and branding

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Interest in Japanese and East Asian culture and global branding 

• Basic photo editing skills and graphic design skills (e.g., using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma)

Not Required:

• Major or minor in the Japanese Language Program 

• Prior experience managing or creating content for social media accounts
