Clubhouse Associate

Position Type: Part-Time (with potential for growth); entry level

Reports To: Owner/Director

Position Summary

The Clubhouse Associate plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, safe, and inspiring environment for children 5 years and up,  and families at The Creative Clubhouse. Associates support daily operations by engaging visitors in creative, hands-on exploration & production while ensuring the safety and smooth functioning of the makerspace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the safety of guests and the appropriate use of tools, materials, and equipment and ensure The Creative Clubhouse safety rules are being implemented and followed. 
  • Demonstrate and guide children in using Clubhouse tools, materials, and technology safely and creatively.
  • Positively interact with children and families to create an inclusive, encouraging, and fun environment.
  • Support children through the creative process by asking questions, offering resources, encouraging perseverance, and helping them work through challenges.
  • Check guests in and out of the space, process payments, and verify completion of required waivers.
  • Assist with daily setup and cleanup of activity areas, maintaining an organized and inviting space.
  • Contribute new ideas for projects, activities, and improvements to enhance the Clubhouse experience.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow Crew Members to uphold The Creative Clubhouse mission and values.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, plus completion of some university/college coursework in education or a related field. Associates or BA preferred. 
  • Experience working with children in educational, recreational, or customer service settings preferred.Friendly, positive attitude and ability to engage with families of diverse backgrounds.
  • Dependable, responsible, and able to maintain a safe, clean environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Comfort using art materials, tools, or technology (training provided).
  • Ability to manage and utilize basic computer/iPad applicationsWillingness to obtain 1st Aid & CPR training after hire.
  • Ability to pass a federal background check, with fingerprinting
  • Ability to provide 2 valid references on request.

Work Environment

This position involves regular interaction with children ages 5 and up, hands-on creative materials, and a dynamic makerspace setting. Light lifting, cleaning, and active movement throughout the space are required.
