School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Bay Area/Central Valley
Employment Type: Full-Time/Part-Time/Contract
Start Date: Immediate need

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school team. The SLP will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to students with communication disorders that impact academic success, social development, and access to curriculum. The ideal candidate is collaborative, student-centered, and committed to supporting diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders, including articulation, fluency, voice, receptive/expressive language, and pragmatic/social communication needs.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student IEP goals.

Provide direct therapy services through individual, small-group, or classroom-based sessions.

Participate in IEP meetings, providing input on goals, services, and progress for each student.

Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support generalization of communication skills across school settings.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including IEPs, progress reports, assessment reports, therapy notes, and service logs.

Provide consultation and support to staff regarding communication strategies, accommodations, and behavior related to communication needs.

Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.

Support MTSS/RTI initiatives by providing screenings, interventions, and data tracking when applicable.

Adhere to district, state, and federal regulations, as well as ASHA professional standards.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Current state SLP license or eligibility for licensure.

ASHA CCC-SLP preferred; CF applicants welcome with appropriate supervision guaranteed.

Knowledge of evaluation tools, therapeutic techniques, and evidence-based school-based practices.

Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary educational team.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in K–12 school settings.

Familiarity with IEP systems, special education law, and school-based documentation requirements.

Bilingual skills (preferred but not required).

 

Compensation & Benefits 

$55.00 - $70.00 per hour
