Junior Trader

About the Role

Patronus Capital is seeking a highly motivated Junior Trader to join our trading team. This role is designed for a recent college graduate, or someone early in their trading career. The ideal candidate should be eager to learn options theory, develop familiarity with our systems and trading strategies, and work in a team environment. Once fully onboard, responsibilities will grow to trade execution, positional management, and strategy improvement. Our aim is to provide a rewarding work environment and growth potential within our small firm.

Patronus Capital is a growing boutique Hedge Fund with a mission to provide our investors with uncorrelated, consistent returns in all market conditions. Day to day, the company operates similar to a trading firm.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior traders with trade execution and position management
  • Monitor markets, news, and key risk factors throughout the trading day
  • Track P&L, risk metrics, and exposures across multiple products
  • Conduct market and quantitative research to support trading strategies
  • Help maintain and improve trading tools, models, and workflows
  • Review post-trade performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure adherence to risk limits and internal controls

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field. (Or graduating before summer of 2026).
  • Strong mathematics, quantitative, and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and trading instruments

     
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, or similar languages is a strong plus
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and risk awareness
  • Excels in a team environment
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in trading

Compensation

  • $100,000-$120,000 plus bonus potential
