Job Title:
Social Media Intern – Digital Engagement Specialist
*This is a paid internship with a rate of $20/hour for up to 15 hours a week.*
Position Purpose:
T o assist in planning and implementing creative, engaging social media strategies that
promote St. John’s mission, vision, messages, ministries, and events. This internship
focuses on increasing community engagement through dynamic and impactful digital
content.
Reports to: Director of Discipleship and Outreach

● Strong administrative and organizational skills
● Creativity and passion for connecting people to Jesus
● A keen eye for visual storytelling and digital trends
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Social Media Content Creation
a. Create and post engaging content on all major platforms (Facebook,
Instagram, YouTube) at least three times a week.
b. Highlight weekly sermon clips by identifying compelling moments and
sharing them as video clips.
c. Develop creative posts that feature photos, videos, and captions to inspire
engagement and grow the online community.
d. Stay up-to-date on social media trends and integrate fresh ideas to
increase visibility.
2. Event Coverage and Live Engagement
a. Attend St. John’s Sunday services to capture and share live pictures and
videos on Facebook and Instagram stories.
b. Be present at key church events throughout the year (e.g., Life Groups,
Summer Picnic, Advent By Candlelight) to document and share real-time updates on social media platforms.
3. Community Interaction
a. Actively respond to comments and messages on posts to foster
meaningful engagement and build relationships online.
b. Collaborate with team members to share trending or relevant content that
supports St. John’s outreach goals.
4. Performance Monitoring
a. b. Track and analyze social media engagement metrics weekly.
Provide a brief weekly report summarizing engagement highlights and
growth areas.
