Product Design Intern - FemTech Fitness
About Sync N
Sync N is a NYC-based FemTech startup building a fitness and performance platform designed around women’s physiology. We help women train, fuel, and recover in sync with their menstrual cycle through cycle-aware workouts, habit tracking, and actionable insights.
The app is live in beta on the App Store, with growing traction and early partnerships forming with collegiate, professional, and Olympic-level athletes.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Product Design Intern to help bring our mobile app to life visually. The UX foundation already exists. This role is about applying visual branding, refining UI details, and helping create a cohesive design system across the product.
This internship can be structured as a summer internship or an academic-semester internship.
You will work directly with the founder, who has a background in UX research and product development, and collaborate with our iOS engineer to see designs ship into a live app.
What You’ll Work On
You will contribute to real, shipped product work, including:
Designing high-fidelity mobile UI screens in Figma
Applying existing brand guidelines across the app experience
Refining visual hierarchy, spacing, typography, and color usage
Creating simple motion assets such as GIFs or micro-animations
Supporting splash screens, loading states, and key visual moments
Preparing clean design handoff for iOS engineers
Depending on interest, you may also:
Create social or App Store visuals based on product designs
Explore motion or experimental visual effects with guidance
What We’re Looking For
You are likely a strong fit if you:
Have experience with Figma and visual UI design
Are interested in mobile app design and product thinking
Want to see your designs shipped, not just reviewed
Are comfortable iterating quickly and taking feedback
Care about building products that support women’s health
You do not need extensive experience. Curiosity, taste, and follow-through matter most.
Why This Internship Is Different
Your designs will ship to a live App Store product
Direct mentorship from a founder with a UX background
Close collaboration with engineers
Real ownership and visible portfolio outcomes
Exposure to early-stage product and design decisions
Compensation
This role is currently structured as an unpaid or credit-based internship, depending on school requirements.
There is potential to transition into a paid internship, contract role, or continued role as the company grows.
