Preschool Nature Educator
Camel’s Hump Farm Nature School is seeking compassionate, creative, and curious individuals to support our on-site preschool and nature-based learning programs. Located on a historic 47-acre working farm and opening directly onto a 135-acre nature preserve, our program offers children hands-on, wonder-filled experiences rooted in environmental education, creativity, and exploration.
This position is especially well-suited for students pursuing early childhood education or related fields who are looking for meaningful, immersive experiences in a nature-based learning environment.
Responsibilities
Preschool Teachers and Nature Education Assistants may support the following:
- Assisting lead teachers during preschool programming and outdoor learning sessions
- Supporting child-led, play-based exploration in natural settings
- Helping facilitate activities focused on discovery, creativity, and problem-solving
- Encouraging social development through cooperative play and group activities
- Preparing materials for preschool and summer camp programs
- Assisting with nature walks, garden exploration, and farm-based learning
- Supporting classroom organization and general program logistics
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

Qualifications
- Interest in early childhood education, child development, or environmental education
- Enjoys working with young children in outdoor settings
- Responsible, patient, and enthusiastic
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- MUST be comfortable with working in outdoor environments
- No prior teaching experience required (training and mentorship provided)
