Cedar Hills Recreation Center | PCC Rock Creek Archery Range

The Cedar Hills Recreation Center is seeking enthusiastic and safety-focused Archery Instructors to teach weekend classes at the PCC Rock Creek Archery Range, with opportunities to coach camps during the summer season. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with diverse age groups and sharing their passion for recreation in a welcoming, community-centered environment.

 

Instructors are typically scheduled 4 to 18 hours per week, with schedules varying based on program needs and availability. During the winter and spring terms, archery classes are primarily scheduled on Saturday mornings and Sunday early afternoons.

 

Essential Functions

  • Instruct archery classes for youth and teens in a safe and engaging manner
  • Promote proper archery technique, range safety, and positive participant experiences
  • Set up, maintain, and safely store equipment before and after classes
  • Communicate clearly with participants, families, and staff
  • Support inclusive programming that welcomes participants of all abilities
  • Follow THPRD safety guidelines, policies, and procedures

 

Qualifications

  • Instructor I: 
    • No teaching experience required, must love working with people of all ages and abilities; be able to work inside and outside; and be at least 16 years of age. Pay rate range: $18.97-20.14 hourly
  • Instructor II: 
    • Must have at least 1 year of experience in leading and instructing general classes and be at least 16 years of age. Pay rate range: $20.68 - $23.30 hourly.
  • Instructor III: 
    • Must have over 2 years of experience and specialized training in the assigned program area; and be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license. Pay rate range: $22.82 - $25.69 hourly.
