Director Of Resource Development
Our client, Missouri Slope Areawide United Way, a trusted nonprofit and staple in the Bismarck/Mandan region, is seeking a passionate, strategic and visionary Director of Resource Development to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Marketing & Donor Relationship Director, this role is central to building strong community connections and driving the success of our annual fundraising campaign. As a trusted nonprofit and community staple, we take pride in creating lasting impact—and we’re looking for someone who shares our commitment to service and engagement.
In this role, your mission is simple: to raise money and inspire people to give. You’ll lead creative strategies to reach campaign goals, working closely with staff and volunteers to increase revenue sources through events, mailings, and donor engagement. You’ll confidently ask for contributions, cultivate relationships with major donors, and manage personalized donor plans based on giving history. From media interviews and public presentations to one-on-one meetings, you’ll represent our organization with professionalism and passion. You’ll also oversee volunteer recruitment and coordination, apply for grants, and ensure donors feel valued through newsletters, thank-you cards, and recognition efforts. Whether it’s organizing Hunger and Homelessness walks or workplace donor training, you’ll keep our mission visible and impactful year-round.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field, with 5 years of experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or public relations preferred. You should be a confident communicator, skilled in relationship building, and comfortable presenting to audiences large and small. Creativity, strategic thinking, and a results-driven mindset are essential. If you’re ready to lead initiatives that deepen community connections and drive meaningful change, we’d love to hear from you. EOE.
