Job Summary

PlanetHome is seeking a Bilingual Business Development Specialist (Mandarin & English) to support our apartment referral and leasing network. This role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with apartment communities and referring qualified prospective tenants—primarily international students and young professionals—to partner properties.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, relationship-driven, and comfortable communicating in both Mandarin and English in a fast-paced real estate environment.

Key Responsibilities

Apartment & Partner Development

Build and maintain relationships with apartment communities, leasing offices, and property managers

Introduce PlanetHome’s referral program to new apartment partners

Maintain accurate records of partner properties, unit availability, and referral terms

Tenant Referral & Coordination

Refer qualified prospective tenants to partner apartments based on needs and availability

Coordinate introductions between tenants and apartment leasing teams

Follow up on referrals to track lease signings and referral outcomes

Client Communication

Communicate clearly and professionally in Mandarin and English with tenants and partners

Assist international clients with basic apartment information (pricing, layout, move-in timelines)

Serve as a trusted point of contact throughout the referral process

Market & Business Support

Monitor local rental market trends and competitor activity

Support marketing or outreach initiatives related to apartment partnerships

Maintain CRM or internal tracking systems for leads and referrals

Qualifications

Required

Fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken and written)

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Comfortable working with apartment leasing teams and prospective renters

Highly organized with strong follow-up skills

Preferred

Background in real estate, leasing, property management, or business development

Experience working with international students or overseas clients

Familiarity with the Boston rental market

CRM or lead-tracking experience

Compensation

Base pay + referral commission per successful lease
