Hours: Full-time
Compensation: Starting at $400/week
Room & Board: Provided (shared housing)

Position Overview
The Seasonal Student Nurse Intern serves as the primary on-site medical caregiver for campers during the summer season. This is a hands-on, clinical role requiring strong decision-making skills, adaptability, and a calm presence in a dynamic camp environment.
This internship is ideal for students pursuing nursing, healthcare, emergency medical services, or related fields who want real-world clinical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary provider of camper medical care on-site
- Dispense and manage all camper medications
- Conduct real-time health screenings and assessments
- Respond to injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies
- Make independent care decisions while consulting with a nurse by phone as needed
- Maintain accurate medical documentation
- Collaborate closely with the Community Support Coordinator and leadership staff
Learning Outcomes
Interns will gain experience in:
- Clinical decision-making in a non-hospital setting
- Medication management and health documentation
- Emergency response and first aid in a residential camp environment
- Communicating medical information clearly to staff and families
Qualifications
- CNA preferred but not required
- EMT, EMR, EMS, or similar training strongly preferred
- Will train the right candidate to the appropriate level (Responding to Emergencies)
- Ability to think critically, act calmly under pressure, and work independently
- Comfortable working with children and adolescents
Supervision & Support
- Intern serves as the primary on-site medical provider
- Licensed nurse available by phone for consultation and support
