Lutherdale Bible Camp – Summer 2026

Position Dates: May 27 – August 15 (flexible)
Hours: Full-time
Compensation: Starting at $400/week
Room & Board: Provided (shared housing)
Academic Credit: Available

Position Overview

The Seasonal Student Nurse Intern serves as the primary on-site medical caregiver for campers during the summer season. This is a hands-on, clinical role requiring strong decision-making skills, adaptability, and a calm presence in a dynamic camp environment.

This internship is ideal for students pursuing nursing, healthcare, emergency medical services, or related fields who want real-world clinical experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary provider of camper medical care on-site
  • Dispense and manage all camper medications
  • Conduct real-time health screenings and assessments
  • Respond to injuries, illnesses, and medical emergencies
  • Make independent care decisions while consulting with a nurse by phone as needed
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation
  • Collaborate closely with the Community Support Coordinator and leadership staff

Learning Outcomes

Interns will gain experience in:

  • Clinical decision-making in a non-hospital setting
  • Medication management and health documentation
  • Emergency response and first aid in a residential camp environment
  • Communicating medical information clearly to staff and families

Qualifications

  • CNA preferred but not required
  • EMT, EMR, EMS, or similar training strongly preferred
  • Will train the right candidate to the appropriate level (Responding to Emergencies)
  • Ability to think critically, act calmly under pressure, and work independently
  • Comfortable working with children and adolescents

Supervision & Support

  • Intern serves as the primary on-site medical provider
  • Licensed nurse available by phone for consultation and support
