Filling and Assembly Intern

POSITION SUMMARY

 

The intern positions in the Filling and Assembly Operation in Melville are intended to support key Continuous Improvement Projects, targeted to improve one or more of our Key Performance Indicators: Incident rates, Quality Rejects, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Scrap, Labor Costs, etc. The intern is expected to bring a fresh set of eyes, creativity, and eagerness to learn and contribute to drive changes to our processes and support the improvements planned.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  1. Safety - Comply with all applicable Safety requirements in the operation, including safe behaviors, following standard operating procedure and using proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  2. Quality - Comply with all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) required in the operation.
  3. Learn the Operations – Intern will be required to quickly learn some key processes in our operation through formal, informal and hands on training. We expect the intern to be highly curious and a quick learner.
  4. Data Oriented – Intern must be data oriented and should be a good practitioner of data analytics. He/she will be required to generate, manipulate and interpret a decent amount of data in order to create information and support decision making. Knowledge on computer tools such as MS Excel, PowerBI and Database will be key to accomplish that.
  5. Challenge the Status-Quo – Intern should bring a balance of learning current work processes and procedures and challenging/questioning current norms. We expect interns to bring a new fresh set of eyes to help us see and break current paradigms and be creative in participating in the projects. Bringing new ideas and implementing them will be a key expectation for the interns.
  6. Project Oriented approach – During the internship we expect them to be driving their projects to completion and demonstrate results. To do so, it’ll be very important to have or learn some key project management concepts such as: chartering, planning and scheduling, change management, risk mitigation, etc.
  7. Team Player – Interns will be expected to develop into great team players, helping others and using the resources to their disposal as much as they can. This is a great opportunity for the interns to develop their teamwork skills and some leadership skills as well.
