Per Diem Adjunct Counselor

Per Diem Adjunct Counselors – Domestic Violence Program (DVP)

Location: Danielson and Windham Areas, CT

Hiring for All Shifts

All Adjunct Counselors are contacted to provide coverage on a per diem basis. There is no guaranteed schedule, and coverage requests are based on program and client needs.

Seeking Per Diem Adjunct Counselors

Join the dedicated team of professionals for our Domestic Violence Program and become a trained, certified Domestic Violence Advocate. DVP offers services to anyone who is a victim of domestic abuse and provides a diverse array of services including 24/7 emergency shelter, court advocacy assistance, referral and information services, individual counseling, support groups, case management, recreation, educational programs for schools and training for professionals throughout Northeastern Connecticut.

Responsibilities include (DVP):

  • Shelter and phone coverage
  • Assist clients in addressing basic needs, including medical and psychiatric needs
  • Individual and group counseling
  • Advocacy
  • Case management
  • Safety planning, crisis intervention and risk assessment
  • Coordinate care with providers and families as needed
  • Documentation
  • House cleaning

Schedule:
Openings available for all shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift), including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required plus two years of experience working in the human services field preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to transport client in own car, when needed.

Supervision and training provided.

Rate of Pay: $21.00 per hour

Work Location: In person

Important Employment Requirement:

All employees of United Services, Inc. are required to receive the influenza (flu) vaccine each year, unless a medical exemption has been submitted and approved by our Medical Director.
