Parenting Support Services Counselor Description:

We’re seeking a compassionate and motivated Parenting Support Services Counselor to support families, strengthen parenting skills, and help reduce the risk of abuse or neglect. Do you have experience working with at-risk families, knowledge of child development, parenting skills, ability to engage diverse families and work independently in the community and strong interpersonal, planning, and documentation skills?

Responsibilities:

• Provide in-home and community-based support to parents and families
• Model positive parenting skills and help develop individualized service plans
• Collaborate regularly with DCF and community partners
• Facilitate parenting groups
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in supervision
• Ensure safety, conduct assessments, and follow all mandated reporting guidelines

Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
May require a flexible schedule to accommodate late afternoons and/or weekends based on program need.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required

Salary/Hourly Range:

$19.00-$21.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Bilingual (Spanish/English) rate of pay: $19.96-$22.59 per hour
