Construction Management Intern
Role Overview
This paid internship* offers hands‑on field and office experience across our New Construction, Remodeling, and Purchasing & Estimating functions. You’ll rotate through each area, learning how high‑quality residential projects are scoped, scheduled, built, and closed out—while contributing to real work that matters.
Rotation A — New Construction (Field & PM support)
- Assist Project Managers with schedule maintenance and task sequencing.
- Help call in inspections and verify trade work meets building code.
- Perform daily quality checks; help maintain clean, protected, and safe jobsites (materials staged, floor/cabinet/countertop protection, erosion control logs).
- Support daily ordering, fill‑ins, and delivery coordination so trades have what they need to stay productive.
Rotation B — Remodeling (Field & PM support)
- Assist Project Managers with schedule maintenance and task sequencing.
- Help call in inspections and verify trade work meets building code.

- Support daily ordering, fill‑ins, and delivery coordination so trades have what they need to stay productive.
Rotation C — Purchasing & Estimating (Pre‑con & cost control)
- Prepare material takeoffs from plans/specs and help assemble bid packages.
- Evaluate quotes; convert approved bids to purchase orders with correct scopes and documentation.
- Monitor variance purchase orders (VPOs) and change order impacts; help keep cost catalogs/current pricing up to date (e.g., Buildertrend cost catalog).
What You’ll Learn & Use
-Project scheduling, inspections, and quality control fundamentals (field).
-Exposure to residential plans/specifications and submittals; practical communication with designers, engineers, and trade partners.
-Remodeling/New Construction workflows and vendor management (field + office)
-Takeoffs, bidding, PO creation, and variance/change order processes (office).
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing an AAS/BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Strong organization, communication, and follow‑through.
- Comfortable in both field and office environments; able to lift/stand/walk jobsites as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; exposure to project management or estimating tools is a plus.
Nice‑to‑Haves
- Experience with plan reading, basic takeoffs, or residential construction terminology.
- Familiarity with Buildertrend (or similar) project management software
