Roadway Intern
Purpose & Need
Patel, Greene & Associates (PGA) is seeking a motivated and curious Roadway Intern for Spring 2026 This position is available in our Bartow, FL office. This internship offers the opportunity to work directly with experienced professionals on plan production, project design, cost estimation, and field reviews. Interns will develop practical skills in engineering software, design standards, and technical documentation while receiving regular mentorship and training. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to take the first step in a meaningful engineering career.
What You’ll Do
- Gain proficiency with construction plans production
- Understand the concepts of geometry design
- Understand the development of pay item quantities and calculations
- Understand the process for development of a project cost estimate
- Effectively research projects and assist with marketing efforts
- Gain knowledge in all design standards, manuals, and criteria
- Requires regular technical supervision of tasks by technical or senior staff
- Complete tasks and projects within established supervisor’s expectations
- Assist as needed with restocking kitchen and office supplies
- Support technical and senior staff with the development of plans, documents, and reports
- Compile documents in PDF for review or submittal
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma
- Enrolled in an ABET Accredited Engineering program
- Other experience or training may be considered

- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Good attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must be able to effectively prioritize
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards in all work efforts
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in an organized manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on deadline-driven activities
- Skill in working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other Office Products
