*All On Earth Peace internships are decentralized and can be done from intern's school or home.

You will help communicate about OEP programs, partners and shareables, spreading awareness and increasing participation and support for our work through social media channels. Your work will play a key role in enhancing the consistency, creativity, and effectiveness of our communication across various digital media platforms. You will help raise the level of social media skills and practice within our staff and program teams, sharing leadership in social media strategy, metrics, and implementation with our organizing directors and program teams.

  • Provide internal education, technical support and other assistance to the OEP team as they utilize social media.
  • Assess current social media engagement with the OEP community/constituency.
  • Help the OEP team build more dynamic social engagement on all major platforms: likes, shares, comments and other forms of dynamic engagement.
  • Help organizing interns and staff tell the story of our work by supporting the development of shareables -- reports or follow ups to program work -- including best framing and posting strategies.
  • Curate content from a wide range of partners and sources (including our own), prepare them for sharing across our social media platforms, and put them into our feeds.
  • Continue to develop effective and consistent graphics and infographic resources for sustained engagement and lasting impact in our social media conversations with practitioners, partners, and the public.
  • Develop new partners through skilled prospecting in social media, and integrate the messages and priorities of partners into our social media feeds in ways that also advance the goals and needs of OEP.
  • Cultivate community by actively monitoring and managing comment streams, including referring comments to appropriate staff or interns for response.
  • Ensure that the principles and practices of active nonviolence and skilled movement building remain integral to all activities and conversations in all our social media.
  • Analyze and report traffic data to help improve our social media practices.
  • Advise and take the lead in any expansion into other social media.
  • Assist in designing a range of digital assets tailored for diverse audiences and use cases, while adhering to our brand management standards and specifications.
  • Regularly observe the online activity of model organizations, research and report on social media best practices, and complete other research projects as needed.
  • Work with and contribute to other Communication Team initiatives.
