Summer 2026 - R&D Finance Intern

Ipsen is a leading global biopharmaceutical company committed to improving lives through innovative medicines in Oncology, Rare Disease, and Neuroscience. As part of our mission, we are seeking motivated undergraduate students to join our summer internship program at our Cambridge, MA office. As an R&D Finance Intern, you will support critical financial activities including preparing and reviewing R\&D cost models, analyzing clinical study budgets across therapeutic areas, compiling and interpreting data in Excel and Think Cell, producing timely reports, assisting with site controlling and finance management tasks, and conducting industry benchmarking research on development costs. 

We will not consider graduate students or undergraduate students graduating before December 2026. We are also not providing housing support so students will need to provide their own housing over the course of the 11-week program.  

 

Main Responsibilities & Job Expectations

  • Prepare and review financial models on R&D Costs. 
  • Clinical Study Budget analysis for various therapeutic areas. 
  • Compile, interpret, and analyze data in Microsoft Excel/Think Cell. 
  • Produce timely and accurate reports and analyses. 
  • Assist in the site controlling activities and site finance management tasks. 
  • Research publicly available information for analysis and industry benchmarking on development costs. 

 

Knowledge & Experience (essential): 

  • Rising senior pursuing a BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • A 3.0 GPA is the minimum requirement.  
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis
  • Demonstrated experience with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Analytical approach to solving problems with ability to influence and negotiate 
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to multitask and prioritize workloads 
  • Previous working experience or desire to work in a best-in-class financial environment. 
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude and the ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment. 
  • Ideal candidates can communicate effectively, learn quickly, take ownership of their work to deliver results.  
  • Able to work onsite 2-3 days per week for the full duration of the 11-week program 

 

The hourly pay for this internship is $30 per hour.
