Summer Internship Program
The Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity (“LCD”) announces its 9th annual Summer Internship Program for college students who have encountered systemic barriers and have traditionally been underrepresented in their pursuit of education. LCD strives to create equitable opportunities for students from varied backgrounds to excel and lead.
We are recruiting Connecticut residents who are high achieving college students with an interest in a legal career. The program has a focus on students who come from backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented in the legal profession. The program provides exposure to the legal profession and guidance and support along the path towards a career in law.
Program Overview
The 10-week summer program consists of a full-time paid internship, weekly seminars and a mock trial. The seminars provide interns with insight into the various professions that are available in the legal field, and will also give the interns the opportunity to connect with members of various law firms, legal organizations and law schools. The mock-trial will provide interns with hands-on experience in presenting a case under the supervision of practicing attorneys and a Superior Court Judge. Participation in all elements of the program is mandatory.
Students selected for this internship will also be assigned an attorney who will serve as their mentor throughout the summer.
There are a limited number of internships. Only fully-completed applications will be considered.
