POSITION TITLE: WORSHIP ASSISTANT

JOB TYPE:  Part-Time (20hrs/week)

TERM: One Year (subject to permanent role if qualified)

Global Harvest Church (GHC), is an elder-led, mid-size SBC affiliated church located in Carrollton, TX.  It is a predominantly 2nd generation Asian-American, contemporary congregation which welcomes people of all cultures and backgrounds.  GHC’s mission is to be a Christ-centered church, fueled by the captivating gospel of Jesus Christ to meet people where they are, in order to transform lives, families, communities, and nations for the glory of God.  

 

Position Overview

The Worship Assistant is a part-time role that supports both the Worship Director and Youth Director in leading and developing the church's Youth worship ministry. A key focus of this position is raising up, mentoring, and supporting the Youth worship team, ensuring they are spiritually and musically equipped to lead worship with confidence. This role also provides general assistance in the worship ministry, working closely with leadership to create a culture of passionate, Christ-centered worship.

Key Responsibilities

Youth Worship Ministry Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor students for the Youth worship team.
  • Provide spiritual and musical guidance to encourage growth in worship leadership.
  • Lead and facilitate weekly Youth worship rehearsals.
  • Support and mentor Youth worship team members during Sunday services.
  • Foster a culture of worship among students that prioritizes spiritual depth and musical skill.


Collaboration with Worship & Youth Ministries

  • Meet regularly with the Worship Director and Youth Director to align ministry goals and strategies.
  • Assist in planning and leading worship for Youth services, Sunday services, and special events.
  • Work alongside the Worship Director to develop young worship leaders for both Youth and main services.
  • Coordinate with the Youth Director to integrate worship into the overall vision for Youth ministry.

 

General Worship Ministry Support

  • Assist in leading worship during Sunday services and other church gatherings as needed.
  • Help with scheduling, setlists, and planning for worship teams.
  • Support the technical and logistical needs of the worship ministry, including sound, lighting, and media.

 

Qualifications

  • A deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Passion for worship and discipleship, particularly in raising up young leaders.
  • Proficiency in leading worship vocally and/or instrumentally (guitar, piano, etc.).
  • Experience in mentoring or discipling students in a ministry setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers.
  • Ministry background and/or education in worship or related is strongly preferred.

 

Time Commitment & Reporting

  • Part-time position requiring flexible availability, including Sundays, midweek rehearsals, and occasional/monthly Youth events.
  • Reports to the Worship Director, with close collaboration with the Youth Director.
