What You’ll Do

- Assist with the development of student programs as requested.
- Students are provided education coordination/instruction as needed.
- Contribute to client relations and marketing activities.
- Attends and participates in community educational/promotional activities as requested
- Makes positive contribution to interdepartmental rapport.
- Maintain licenses/certifications and memberships are current
- Applicable licenses/certifications and memberships in applicable professional organizations.
- Complete screening on new tenants.
- Screening is completed and reviewed with Interdisciplinary team
- Conduct initial assessments.
- Patient assessment is completed following receipt of physician's order. Data is recorded timely.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary care plans.
- Short and long term goals are written objectively and are measurable.
- Time frame for goal achievement is documented.
- Interventions are selected based on assessment results and are appropriate for age of the patient.
- Consults with physician regarding referrals for other services as needed.
- Provide age appropriate therapeutic interventions
- Therapeutic interventions result in positive outcomes as judged by patient satisfaction
- Uses positive feedback to promote patient participation in their rehabilitation program.
- Formalized and goal directed educational/training activities are provided based on individual needs.
- Evaluate patient response to treatment and provide feedback to the rest of the team.
- Patient response to the interdisciplinary care plan is evaluated as evidenced by patient achievement of goals and/or goal revision, the interdisciplinary care plan is updated as needed.
- Document the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment.
- Interventions and effects are documented per session according to policy and procedure. Progress notes are completed along with discharge summaries.
- Proper supervision, guidance and documentation of such interaction is completed according to state regulations per license requirements
- Complete required supervisory intervention with assistants as required by your license of more often to ensure quality service and progression of care is completed.
- Coordinate treatment with other disciplines.
- Participate in rehab meetings.
- Participates in interdisciplinary care conference meetings and provides/seeks input to/from others on patient care.
- Uses and updates unit communication methods in timely manner.
- Attends rehab meetings and offers ideas/solutions in problem solving situations/activities regarding the program.
- Function as a resource for and provide employees with in-service/cross-training on occupational therapy knowledge and skill areas.
- Attends in-service sessions.
- Leads in-service sessions as requested/volunteered.
- Orients other staff to the occupational therapy functions of the facility.
- Contribute to development of improved efficiency and productivity of unit clinical functions
- Offers positive suggestions/solutions to improve service delivery and facility operations.
- Contributes to and cooperates with the implementation of system improvements.
- Offers to assist other staff and demonstrates flexibility in carrying out shared team functions including special projects.
What We’re Looking For
- Graduate of an accredited OT program (CAHEA/AOTA or WFOT equivalent).
- Current state license to practice.
- Experience with adult and geriatric populations preferred.
- Passion for patient-centered care and innovative therapy approaches.
