Teachers are responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning. This includes implementing effective curriculum, managing a positive classroom environment, utilizing technology for instruction and record-keeping, and actively collaborating with the school community to support student success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree or higher
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate (Biology 9-12)
- Knowledge of state standards, federal and state regulations and law
- Knowledge of subject matter content and assessment strategies
- Knowledge of best practices in curriculum and instruction
- Ability to relate to students, staff, and parents in a positive manner
- Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form
Additional Position Information:
- Biology or Physical Science 9-12 Certification Required
- Additional 9-12 Science Content Certifications (i.e. Chemistry, Earth Science, etc.) is preferred
- OFHS current student population approximately 750 (our district is rapidly growing)
- New High School opened January 2024 with state of the art Science Labs
- Comprehensive Science offerings include college credit/AP offerings, PLTW Biomedical Science Track, Agricultural Science courses and more
- Extracurricular coaching and faculty advisor positions are also available for the 2026-2027 academic year
An individual who holds this position is required to:
- Provide instruction to students
- Create and implement a classroom disciplinary plan
- Create lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction
- Participate in building, grade level and subject area committees
- Maintain accurate student records including attendance, grades and discipline
- Complete and submit forms and required reports in a timely manner
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns
- Participate as a member of an IEP team, 504 team or other student assistance teams as requested
- Implement special educational plans such as 504 plans, individual educational programs and individual health plans
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassments as directed by Board policy
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
An individual who holds this position is required to:
- Move around a classroom frequently. Allocation of movement are generally 10% sitting, 45% walking and 45% standing.
- Perform some lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Speak and hear in a noise environment with numerous conversations and activities

SALARY SCHEDULE Salary is based from years of experience teaching and degree per OFSD policy and procedure. 2026-2027 salary schedule will be updated upon Board of Education approval.
