Office Assistant: Languages, Literatures & International Studies

Do you love languages and cultures? Join the Languages, Literatures and International Studies Team as our Office Assistant. This position will work approximately 6-8 hours/week. Position: LLIS Student Office Assistant

BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary role of the Office Assistant is to support the students, faculty, and staff of the Department of Languages, Literatures and International Studies with a variety of tasks.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain up to 6-8 hours per week in the Languages, Literatures & International Studies main office, Whitman 145.

2. General Office Duties: Including (but not limited to) making copies for faculty, monitoring departmental email inbox, checking the mail, answering office phone, and maintaining the department's social media presence. 

3. Customer Service: Perform various office duties such as greeting visitors/students, and answering basic department questions.

4. Graphic Design: Design social media graphics & posters for department events and programs.

5. Event Support: Attend departmental events for setup and take down. Taking photos during the events for future social media postings. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

2. Ability to use Adobe Express 

3. Ability to promote programs across media platforms 

4. Maintain a 3.0 GPA each semester

5. Be free from any type of academic or social probation
