Job Summary

 

Join Our Team as an Access & Accommodation Specialist. Colorado College is committed to creating an accessible, equitable, and inclusive campus for all. As a key member of our Accessibility Resources team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with disabilities and temporary conditions. This position focuses on case management, coordinating accommodations, and partnering with faculty and staff to ensure full access to campus life. Beyond direct student support, you'll help lead office operations and drive campus-wide education and programming that promote disability awareness, inclusion, and antiracism.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Provide case management and support for students with disabilities and/or temporary illnesses/injuries.

• Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, determining eligibility for services, processing accommodation requests, referring students to campus resources, and collaborating with faculty and staff to implement accommodations and ensure equitable access.

• Lead and manage operational and educational initiatives within Accessibility Resources.

• This includes coordinating office operations (e.g., fiscal records, equipment, supplies, accessible formats, captioning/interpreting services), and developing campus-wide education, awareness, and programming on disability and access. Collaborate with campus partners and advise disability-focused student groups to promote inclusion and antiracism.

• Provide student instruction and training on assistive technology and academic success strategies, such as time management, organization, reading, note-taking, and use of tools like text-to-speech applications and SmartPens.

• Maintain current knowledge of Accessibility Resources policies, college procedures, and relevant federal and state laws (e.g., ADA, Section 504, Fair Housing Act).

• Apply best practices in disability services within a higher education setting.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• 1 year of experience in a related field

 

One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of required education (OR) one year of relevant academic coursework beyond the minimum requirement may be substituted for one year of required professional experience.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

 

• $22.63 to $27.16 per hour
