Older Adult Protective Services Investigator

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Job description:

Mercer County Area Agency on Aging, Inc., a non-profit corporation responsible for assisting individuals age 60 and older with accessing and obtaining essential services, is looking for a dynamic, reliable, and caring person to provide assessment of need and support in meeting those needs for older adults in Mercer County.

This position involves the performance of Older Adult Protective Services functions, including Reports of Need, interviewing, identifying, and resolving all types of abuse of older adults to reduce or eliminate risk, through the provision of various support services in conformance with established federal, state and local regulations, policies and procedures.

Work includes identifying abuse through investigation techniques, preparing case files and documentation of interactions with the older adult, families, medical professionals and others, developing care plans and arranging for service provision to address needs by accessing community resources (agencies, hospitals, clinics, etc.). Work also requires keeping current and strict adherence to established policies and procedures for the Older Adult Protective Services Program.

A successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, sociology, gerontology, or related field, strong, person-centered communication skills, proficient computer competence, and a willingness to be a present and committed member of our team. Experience with state-regulated investigations and knowledge of community resources is a plus, but not required. Must be able to complete accurate, thorough, and timely documentation, as well as handle multiple cases at one time. Resumes will be accepted via email.
