Packaging Lab Technician
Packaging Lab Technician (Packaging Grads)
Stratfield is seeking a Packaging Lab Technician to join our client. An ideal candidate will have recently graduated with a BS/MS in Packaging and have exposure to food science. This person will support lab testing, data analysis and reporting for packaging of food related items.
This is a 12 month contract (with likely extensions) that will be onsite here in Atlanta. Sorry, sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct tests on food packaging and food items using lab equipment (Instron tensile tester, Taber testers, pH meter, moisture analyzer, etc.)
- Design and execute experiments consistent with brand packaging handling
- Analyze data, troubleshoot discrepancies, and communicate results to cross-functional teams
- Write summaries and test reports and present findings in presentations
- Assist with Spec and SOP updates
- Manage lab spaces and equipment
- Work in product life cycle systems
- May occasionally work in the food lab (secondary)
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, or similar
- 1+ year of experience is preferred, but recent grads are welcome to apply
- Ability to interpret data, adjust test procedures/processes
- Strong written/verbal communication (summaries, reports, presentations)
- Knowledge of packaging materials, substrates, and surface treatments
- Familiarity with lab equipment and environments
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Teamwork and time management skills
- Experience in product life cycle systems preferred
- Experience in a food lab preferred
