Winter/Spring Graphic Design/Web Development Intern
In this position, the intern will assist in all design and web development efforts of the company. Working closely with the team, the intern will gain hands-on experience across both graphic design and website development — creating visuals for social media, contributing to website updates, supporting UI/UX improvements, and helping produce a cohesive brand experience across all platforms.
SELECTED RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceptualizing visuals and digital layouts based on written content
- Preparing rough drafts, mockups, and wireframes in alignment with branding
- Creating graphics using appropriate colors, typography, and layouts
- Making revisions to designs and website elements after team feedback
- Assisting in maintaining and updating the company website or hosting platforms (e.g., Squarespace)
- Supporting UI/UX design efforts using tools like Figma
- Ensuring final graphics, webpages, and layouts are visually appealing, functional, and on-brand
- Helping the team maintain consistent branding guidelines across all channels
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A portfolio of illustrations, graphics, or digital design work
- Ability to work in Canva and/or other design software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.)
- Experience with UI/UX tools such as Figma
- Understanding of CSS and web development principles
- Familiarity with website builders or CMS platforms (e.g., Squarespace)
- Experience with social media content creation (Instagram)
- A keen eye for aesthetics, layout, and detail
- Excellent communication and strong writing skills
- Ability to work methodically, manage tasks, and meet deadlines
- Genuine interest in design, web development, and digital creativity as a profession
Note: This is an unpaid internship. The intern will be offered academic credit for this internship.
